On Monday, September 19, 3-4:30pm, in E-255, LaGuardia COIL program will host an in-person meet-and-greet event with two international colleagues: Angélique Alberge (Devillers), English Professor and Head of International Office at Rodez Institute of Technology, France, and Hashem Abu Sneineh, Professor in the Business program at Palestine Ahliya University, the West Bank.
They will be speaking about their institutions and will discus ways to collaborate with LaGuardia through COIL, student internships and faculty exchanges. COIL committee members will be representing their programs and departments. Here is the event’s agenda.
Professor Alberge has collaborated with LaGuardia Professors Lucy McNair (English) and Habiba Boumlik (ELA) in the past; two of these collaborations were supported by a grant from the FACE Foundation/French and American Embassies – in his official announcement Philippe Etienne, the French Ambassador to the US, mentioned LaGuardia as one of the grant recipients. Rodez University Institute of Technology is hoping for several COIL partners on an annual basis to offer such projects to students in their Computing, Business Administration, Quality & Logistics, Paralegal careers and Information & Communications programs.
Professor Sneineh is collaborating with LaGuardia Professor Sada Hye Jaman (Business and Technology) this semester through Global Scholars Achieving Career Success program, and this partnership is supported by The Stevens Initiative, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with funding provided by the U.S. Government, and is administered by the Aspen Institute. The Stevens Initiative is also supported by the Bezos Family Foundation and the governments of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.
